FASHION students at York College saw their outfits displayed in a York shop window after being set a challenge by a city centre clothing store.
College students in their HND Year 1 designed garments for their end-of-year catwalk show, after being given advice about commercially-viable clothes by staff from Statement, in Low Petergate.
Two winners were then chosen to have their designs shown off in Statement's shop window.
They were Danielle Bramall, who designed a long midnight blue strap dress with a scarf, and Debi Walker, who designed a pair of wide cream satin trousers, with a red linen top and a -length sage linen jacket.
They each also won £250 worth-of-clothing from the store.
Four runners-up prizes were given to Emma Tait, Amy Wan, Janet Hull and Gemma Brown, who won a pair of shoes each.
Michael Petty and Jane Leverton, joint-owners of Statement, said: "We are very pleased to work with the York College fashion students and are delighted that they have managed to produce some really exciting and commercially viable fashion garments - being able to sell your fashion ideas and designs is very important, not to mention rewarding."
