EIGHT York karate players will be out to show they are among the world's best next weekend, writes Pete Barrow.
The octet of Scott Bradley, Rachel Barker, Lee Bradley, Carla Leadley, Rebecca Holmes, Amy Barker, Faye Bradley, Serena Sawdon-Holland, Alice Barker, plus their coach Paul Wright, who will be guiding the British team, are heading for the World Championships to be held at Cardiff's Sophia Gardens on Saturday and Sunday.
They all train with the Wigginton Shiseikai club and will be among 500 competitors from 35 countries.
As well as competition they team will also get the chance to train with top Japanese instructors and dan gradings will also be taken.
