The horse "leased" by Countdown stars Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman makes its racecourse debut in North Yorkshire.
The Mare of Wetwang - named after the TV host's civic role in the Wolds town - will be watched by both its celebrity owners as it races at Ripon.
The two-year-old filly has been trained at Middleham by James Bethell, as the Evening Press Turpin Rides Again column revealed earlier this year.
Richard said: "Carol and I have every confidence in The Mare. I'm sure she won't let down her prestigious office."
He added: "One thing is for certain, she'll certainly run faster than the present Mayor of Wetwang."
His filly Al Ava Consonant, whose name will surely ring bells with Countdown fans, was also trained by James Bethell.
