COSTCUTTER League side Dunnington suffered a six wicket defeat at the hands of Yorkshire County Premier League side Sheffield Collegiate as they sought a place in the last 16 of the National Club Knockout.
Dunnington skipper Simon Kellett hit ten fours and nine sixes as he made an unbeaten 133 despite nursing an injury, but he received little support.
However, Collegiate were equal to the target set with Neil Priestley hitting 62 and C Wall was unbeaten on 44 as they secured success - former Collegiate player Joe Grant managing only 1-45 against his old team-mates.
However, York League side Clifton Alliance enjoyed cup success as they beat South Riding League champions Wickersley by 36 runs to take a place in the last four of the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy.
Joel Southam, 64, and John Hunter, 62 not out, helped Clifton post 243-7, while Wickersley were ousted for 207.
STRIKING OUT: Dunnington's Matt Stacey goes after the runs as Sheffield Collegiate wicketkeeper Matt Root looks on.
