WHATEVER the weather, organisers of the 50th Great Yorkshire Show are determined it will be a success.
Despite poor weather forecasts the annual show is preparing to entertain its visitors with agricultural competitions, fashion shows, country demonstrations and Winnie the Pig.
The campaigning pig is among special guests including Dickie Bird and Archbishop of York Dr David Hope, who will be presented with a commemorative crook.
The three days of activities start at 8am tomorrow at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, with the usual range of sheeps, pigs, horses and cattle.
"We are looking forward to what will be a wonderful event," said a spokesman.
"We are keeping one eye on the forecast, but the weather is one thing we can't control."
