Dunnington were without the services of in-form skipper Simon Kellett through injury and missed his top of the order contribution when they could only take the worst of a draw at Clifton Park in division one.

Former Sussex Under 19's batsman Ed Senneck hit an unbeaten 78 as York reached 156-7 with ex Osbaldwick player James Reynolds making 23 as Joseph Grant claimed 3 for 37 in 16 overs.

York's Aussie, Kieron Barton, then bowled throughout to take 4 for 73 in 23 overs and, with Chris Thomas claiming 3 for 38 in 19 overs, Dunnington were only able to reach 129-7. Steve Precious and Paul Miles each made 25,

Wilberfoss failed to take full advantage of Dunnington's limited points reward when they were held to a draw at Stamford Bridge, their 19 points haul leaving them 16 points behind their neighbours.

Newcomer R Whiteside top-scored for Wilberfoss with 49 while Dave Gilbertson (30) and Kev Davison (26) helped them reach 181-6 despite good bowling from Mark Owens, who took 5-77. Owens then dominated Stamford's reply with 72 but Andy Gray kept control by conceding only 35 runs in a 16 over stint as he claimed 3 wickets and Stamford closed on 128-7.

Sessay gained their first victory of the season when they had a five wicket triumph at Dringhouses, despite an opening stand of 124 for the hosts between Ged Fitzpatrich (42) and Paul Cannings (81) .

Their efforts sent Dringhouses towards their eventual total of 178-7 but this proved to be inadequate as Matthew Till led Sessay's response with an unbeaten 70. Runs also came from John Flintoff (41) and Darren Atkinson, who made 31, and Sessay reached a winning score of 181-5 in the 44th over.

One of the highest scoring games of the season saw Duncombe Park make 237-4 to beat Beverley Town by 6 wickets.

Beverley had set a target of 236-5 but their defeat sees them slip to 11th place in the division.

Ripon were another side to take maximum batting points when they reached 201-8 in their home encounter with Civil Service.

Ripon, whose pitch was vandalised last weekend, reached their total through the efforts of Chris Waters 39, Richard Hawley 32, Neal Jackson 27 and Tim Collins 41, with Service bowler Richard Houghton sticking to his task and being rewarded with 5 for 74.

When the York side replied, Tim Wood made 38 but Paul Mason (4-45) and Andrew Frost (3-23) had them tottering on the precipice of defeat at 142-9 when time became the saviour.
