A harvest banner created by pupils at Manor CE School in York is set to be the first of several to hang in the school's main hall.

The banner was made by group of 14 pupils from Year Ten at the school who designed it themselves then made it from material, buttons and beads donated by parents.

Headed Gifts Of The Lord, the banner shows a country scene representing harvest, and was dedicated at the school's harvest festival by the Reverend Michael Fossett, of Poppleton.

Head teacher Peter Smith said the school was hoping to make further banners to hang in the hall, creating a focus for worship and assemblies at the church school.
