I AM writing to you through not only annoyance, but utter amazement at the amount of people that cannot reverse their cars in the cul-de-sac where I live, without hitting my brick wall. Even when there are no other vehicles parked in the cul-de-sac and driving conditions are perfect.

Over the past ten years I have had a catalogue of incidents happen. A conifer hedge knocked down, wooden fencing damaged, iron gates run into and, of course, the brick wall has been hit at least a dozen times.

Although there is no drastic damage done to the wall, I have had to replace concrete coping and remove bumper and paint marks from the wall. Even having to pick up broken brick chippings, because some ignorant drivers try to reverse into my driveway.

The unexplainable fact is, the cul-de-sac is of ample size for even a large van to turn round. This is now having a direct effect on my wife who is constantly having to watch vehicles turn round during the day while I am at work.

I have also written to the council asking if anything can be done to protect my property, as the land between my wall and the kerbside belongs to the highways department.
