MALTON and Norton golfers Simon Dyson and Emma Duggleby are contiuing to make a big impression this season.
Dyson has comfortably made the cut in the Murphy's Irish Open at Ballybunion.
He followed up his sparkling first round 67 with a 69 yesterday for a two round total of 136 - just seven shots behind leader Patrik Sjoland, who carded a 13 under 65 yesterday to add to his opening round of 64.
Meanwhile Emma Duggleby marched on in the British Women's Amateur Championship at Walton Heath.
The Curtis Cup player was due to play Australian R Coakley in the third round today after two victories yesterday.
Duggleby beat A Coffey (Ireland) 3 and 2 in the morning, then defeated N Azam (Switzerland) on the 19th.
Sara Garbutt (Knaresborough) beat S Heath (Telford) on the 20th in the first rund, but was beaten 3 and 2 by Danish player C Vagner in the second round.
