A MAN who once threatened to kill himself in his former girlfriend's bed broke a court order banning him from her home, York magistrates heard.
David Paul Peacock, 20, was made subject to a restraining order after he was convicted of harassing her. He cannot go within half a mile of the road where she lives.
But last Tuesday police found Peacock asleep at the door of her home, said Paula Jack, prosecuting.
She had called them out because he had followed her and her new boyfriend home from a nightclub.
"I've done it now," he told police when they woke him up. "I have just come out of prison for that and I am going back. The last thing I remember was being in Toffs."
Miss Jack said it was the second time Peacock had breached a court order. He had previously defied a county court injunction aimed at protecting the former girlfriend.
The restraining order was made after Peacock broke into her house and wrote a note saying he would kill himself in her bed.
She returned home to find him in the bed with a piece of glass. He was still alive and climbed onto the roof. Police persuaded him to come down and arrested him.
Peacock, of Bellwood Drive, Foxwood, pleaded guilty to breaking a restraining order.
Magistrates conditionally discharged him for 12 months and ordered him to pay £55 costs.
For Peacock, Kevin Blount said his client had been drinking on the night he fell asleep at the ex-girl-friend's door and was unable to say how he got there.
Police had taken him to his own home after awakening him and only arrested him a couple of days later when they had checked the conditions of his restraining order.
He had spent 24 hours in custody following his arrest and had spent some time on remand prior to the restraining order being made.
