A new coach could be installed at York Wasps as early as next week.
Garry Atkins has been holding the reigns since the departure of Dean Robinson and John Paterson three months ago.
He offered to help out for the remainder of the season which comes to an end tomorrow night with the visit of Lancashire Lynx.
The Wasps are keen to make a quick appointment so that the new man in charge can immediately start preparing for next season.
Chief executive Ann Garvey said it was possible an announcement would be made next week, although she was remaining tight-lipped about their preferred choice.
