DAY one and a Great British Hope is already out. Greg Rusedski, the British Number Two, crashed out of Wimbledon in humiliating style yesterday after fighting for four hours against Vince Spadea of the United States, who had previously lost 22 matches in a row.
All eyes are now on Tim Henman, who is due on Court One later this afternoon and will carry with him many a British heart. But let's not forget 22-year-old Martin Lee, the former junior tennis champion who yesterday found form to win through his first-round match.
But if the Brits don't do well at least there's one consolation - the fans are unlikely to run riot on the streets afterwards.
