I HAVE seen every production of the Mystery Plays since 1951 and in my opinion, the present one is the best since the first two Martin Brown productions in 1951 and 1954.
It is truly magnificent; the director, designer, composer and the cast are to be highly congratulated for superb use of the Minster space, beautiful colours and entrancing music.
The Noah play is entertaining fun, the flood being magically spectacular and it brought forth spontaneous applause.
The later scenes of the Passion and Crucifixion were movingly presented.
Please may we have videos of the whole performance to enjoy it at will? It ought to be preserved for posterity. It is a truly breathtaking millennium event.
