In aid of Mill Lodge Community Unit for the Elderly:
u Pollard Close Gardens, off Burn Estate, opposite Huntington Senior School. Eight gardens open. Also tombola, books, and refreshments on sale. Open 1-5.30pm. Combined entrance £1 adult.
In aid of World Wide Fund for Nature:
u The Hidden Gardens of Great Ouseburn. Fourteen gardens, some of which have been featured on television, open from 11am-5pm. Combined entrance £3.
In aid of Martin House Children's Hospice and Church Funds:
u Temple Hirst, five miles south of Selby off A19. Several gardens open together with an exhibition of village life over the past century. Open 2-6pm. Combine entrance £1, children under 5yrs free.
In aid of St Leonard's Hospice 2000 Appeal and the Friends of Melbourne School Funds:
u Melbourne Open Gardens, near Pocklington Sixteen village gardens open, plus teas and other activities. Open 2-6pm. Combined entrance £2 adult.
In aid of Imperial Cancer Research Fund:
u Easingwold Open Gardens. Thirteen gardens open five of which are new to the event. Programmes on sale in the Market Place. Open 1-6pm. Combined entrance £2 adult, 50p child, £4.50 family ticket.
In aid of St Leonard's Hospice 2000 Appeal:
u Riccall Open Gardens. Fourteen gardens open with a collection of fuchsias at one and over 120 hostas at another. Open 1-6pm. Combined entrance £2 adult.
In aid of British Red Cross:
u Spennithorne Village, two miles south east of Leyburn. Six gardens with wide range of roses, shrubs, and borders, and a woodland walk between them. Open 2-5pm. Combined entrance £3 adult.
u Grantly Hall, five miles from Ripon, two miles past Fountains Abbey on B6265. Thirty-five acres of ground with lawns, trees, and Japanese garden.
Open 2-5pm. Entrance £2 adult, 50p child.
u Mulgrave Estate, Lythe, four miles north of Whitby on A174. Beautiful grounds and views. Open 2-5pm. Entrance £2.50 adult, 50p child.
In aid of St John Ambulance:
u Wytherstone House, Pockley, three miles north east of Helmsley from A170 signpost. Large garden with many lavenders, over 40 varieties of salvia, arboretum, peat terracing, and rare alpines. Open 1-5pm. Entrance £2.50 adult, 75p child, under 6 years free.
u Carthorpe Manor, near Bedale, one mile west of A1 on T-junction between Burneston and Kirklington. Two acres of walks, borders, pond, and climbers on old brick walls. Open 2-6pm. Entrance £2 adult.
In aid of National Gardens Scheme:
u Croft Cottage, Green Hammerton, off A59 between York and Harrogate. Secluded garden with orchard, wild flowers, clipped yew, water feature, and mixed border. Open 12.30-5pm. Entrance £1 adult (or combined with Whixley Gardens £3).
u Whixley Gardens, off A59 between York and Harrogate. Three gardens open in the village with an interesting range of plants, a water garden, climbers, courtyards, containers, vistas, and hidden areas. Light lunches and teas at the Old Vicarage. Open 12.30-5.30pm. Combined entrance (with Croft Cottage above) £3 adult.
u High Farm, Bilton, off A165 Hull-Bridlington road. Garden with extensive range of plants and mature trees festooned with cascades of clematis and roses. Open 1-5pm. Entrance £2 adult (share to RBL).
u Hillbark, Bardsey, off A58 Wetherby-Leeds road at Church Lane. Shrubs, perennials, and some annuals provide year round colour. Open 11-5pm. Entrance £1.50 adult, 50p child (share to Cookridge Hospital Cancer Research).
u Hunmanby Grange, between Wold Newton and Hunmanby on road from Burton Fleming to Fordon. Garden created from a field on the top of the Wolds, with mixed borders, gravel and pond gardens, and orchard. Open 11-5pm. Entrance £2 adult.
u Jacksons Wold, Sherburn, 11 miles from Malton, ten miles from Scarborough. Walled garden with mixed borders, wild flower meadow, and views over the Vale of Pickering. Open 12-6pm. Entrance £2 adult.
u Lullaby, Hull, from A165 take Salthouse Road towards Sutton, turn right into Dunvegan Road, right into Barra Close, right again. Peaceful garden planted to attract wildlife with borders and summerhouse. Open 2-5pm. Entrance £1 adult.
u Millgate House, Richmond, at the bottom of Market Place opposite Barclays Bank. Walled town garden overlooking the River Swale, with ferns, hostas, clematis, roses, and small trees. Open 8am-8pm. Entrance £2 adult, 50p child.
u Stillingfleet Lodge, Stillingfleet, six miles south of York on B1222. Mature garden divided into smaller areas each based on a colour. Also new double herbaceous borders, wild flower meadow, and natural pond. Open 1.30-5.30pm. Entrance £2 adult, child over 5yrs 50p.

Saturday, July 1
In aid of Village Community Hall:
u Poppleton Garden Trail, Poppleton and Nether Poppleton, off A59 York-Harrogate road. Eighteen gardens, two wildlife areas, an allotment, the recently restored medieval Tithe Barn and the railway station will be open on Saturday 1 and Sunday July 2. Open 11am-5pm. Combined entrance £2.50 adult.
In aid of All Saint's Parish Church and the Methodist Church:
u Shiptonthorpe Open Gardens, on A1079 between Pocklington and Market Weighton. Twenty gardens open from 10-5pm. Combined entrance £2.50 (share to local Roman Catholic community).
