AFTER the long build-up, the York Millennium Mystery Plays are now here.
Last night's official opening, which was attended by The Duke of York, said much about the heritage and history of this fine city.
These plays are delivered from the very heart of York, and for this time only they are being staged at the heart of York in the Minster. They offer a great spectacle while also acting as a symbol to spirited community involvement.
Alas, the production is also long at three hours and 40 minutes. Too much of a good thing will always try the patience - and test the nerves of the hardiest behind.
