The Yorkshire Cricket Board put in a hard day's work but were still outclassed by Yorkshire who beat them by 130 runs in the third round of the NatWest Trophy at Harrogate yesterday.
Yorkshire's 240 for five was well beyond the Board's capabilities, particularly after their first four wickets had fallen with only 49 scored, and they were bowled out for 110 with 11.1 overs left.
Darren Gough claimed wickets at the beginning and end of the Board's innings to finish with five for 30 but the man-of-the-match award went to Michael Vaughan for his polished 70.
The main contribution for the Board came from former Yorkshire all-rounder Richard Kettleborough who followed up tidy bowling by playing some crisp strokes until he cut at Ryan Sidebottom and sliced a catch to James Middlebrook at slip for 41.
Yorkshire now visit Northamptonshire in the next round on July 5 when they will be trying to end their opponents' record of three wins from three matches in the competition between the sides.
