A YORK sex monster has been jailed for life for corrupting and repeatedly raping two brothers aged six and 13.

The city's most senior judge, Judge Paul Hoffman, branded Bryan Stanford "dangerous, scheming and manipulative" after hearing how the months of abuse were just the latest of his depraved crimes against children.

Despite being a known paedophile and on the sex offender register, the 51-year-old had deliberately evaded police checks so he could prey on the boy victims, York Crown Court was told.

He had already served a 10-year prison sen-tence for kidnapping a girl in front of her friends, raping her in a vehicle and then threatening to kill her unless she kept silent.

Judge Hoffman urged the authorities to take "particular great care" before granting him parole and "letting him loose on the commu-nity".

He praised DC Dave Peat, the detective who played the crucial role in bringing Stanford to justice, as a "very impressive officer" and his work as a "shining example".

He was speaking after the jury convicted Stanford of three rapes and five indecent as-saults on the boys and possessing child porn photographs of the six-year-old with intent to sell them.

Stanford, of Thorn Nook, off Malton Road, York, had previously admitted two charges of taking the photographs.

After the verdicts, he pleaded guilty to fail-ing to comply with the requirements of the sex offenders' register.

Stanford's solicitor, Kevin Blount, said out-side court: "We will be advising our client on an appeal. He has maintained his inno-cence throughout."
