I AM disgusted at the proposed cull of the Canada geese of Rowntree Park by City of York Council and hope something can be done to stop it.
I visited the park one evening and found no mess from the geese. In fact, there were only about 20 geese there.
The geese are now mainly congregated at Monkbridge and Foss Islands and are an attraction and very well thought of by visitors to that area, and certainly do not warrant a death sentence because of any mess they might make.
I urge all other bird/animal lovers to write to the Evening Press and support the campaigners. The council must listen to the geese campaigners.
Mrs J Flint,
Hempland Lane, York.
