MR Feaster of the UK Independence Party wrote: "On January 1, 2002 the euro coins will be legal tender in the UK" (Letters, June 15).
Is this really true?
Are York traders aware that they will have to accept euros as payment in less than two years, regardless of any decisions made by the UK government?
Or is this a myth put about by the Independence Party?
