Rookie porter Steven Marron has been voted Trainee of the Year at a York and District Hospitality Association dinner.
He was voted one of the hotel's Employees of the Quarter last Spring for his work in the porters' department which has included duties in the conference centre and restaurant.
Chris Wilson, general manager of the Swallow Hotel, said: "He has a very approachable style and goes out of his way to help customers. It is fantastic to see that his efforts have been recognised."
Steven, holding aloft his cut-glass trophy and certificate, said: "It has been great working here. Everyone has been really friendly and to receive this award is an added bonus."
