THE Government's "e.envoy" Alex Allan stopped off in North Yorkshire today on a whistle stop tour of the region.
Mr Allan visited e.business specialists in North and West Yorkshire to hear their views and see innovative work being done on the Internet.
His tour took him to Tadcaster-based Shopcreator which specialises in e-commerce software for websites as well as individual teleworkers operating from home in Leeds and to Training and Enterprise Councils to study their initiatives to promote information technology awareness.
Mr Allan's office is at the centre of the Government's aim to make the UK the best place in the world for e-commerce, with modern markets, confident people at ease in an electronic environment.
