THE suggestion by Labour MEP Richard Corbett that we abandon God Save the Queen as our National Anthem should not surprise any of us. It is simply further proof of Labour's hatred of everything symbolic of Great Britain.
The difference between Conservative MEPs and our Liberal or Labour counterparts is that we are proud to be British and take every opportunity to express it. Labour MEPs are clearly ashamed of their cultural heritage and will stop at nothing to see it erased.
By trying to deny us our National Anthem, Labour is simply continuing its 'slash and burn' policy towards the British constitution. The victim of this latest looting spree is the monarchy itself which has so long represented the very stability and integrity of the United Kingdom.

Conservative MEP serving Yorkshire & Humberside.
