Heworth moved to the top of division three with a productive draw at Acomb which saw them take full batting points as they posted a score of 212-3.
Joe Johnson 38 and John Bonarious 26 laid the foundations then half centuries from ex York RI player Mark Fratson (56no) and Jason Gatus (55) iced the cake.
Gatus was again in the action when Acomb batted, taking 5-32 as he and youngster David Bell (3-45) had Acomb looking at defeat at 144-9.
The home side owed their precarious draw to Paul Hughes 39 and Scott Nicholls 37.
Former leaders Cawood also had an advantage draw but with lesser reward as their 166-9 was followed by Londesbrough Park's 159-8.
Andrew Percy hit the match top score of 62 for Cawood with Andrew West replying with 59.
On the bowling front, Richard Cooper (6-87) and Phil Curtis (3-51) earned the spoils for Park with Nigel Bartram's 6-51 just tipping the scales in Cawood's favour.
Tadcaster Magnet lost ground on the leaders when they stumbled to a heavy defeat at Bolton Percy.
Home bowler Howard Hall enjoyed an impressive spell as he claimed three wickets without conceding a run.
Peter Houseman made 30 for Bolton, but Tadcaster appeared to be in control after John Wetherhill (5-37) and Mark Cass (3-30) had dismissed their neighbours for 130.
The Bolton bowlers then took over with Chris Beley taking 5-32 and Hall and Henry Houseman (2-13) also providing the goods, Magnet crumbled to 53 all out.
Last week Whitkirk were the only team in the entire division to gain a victory as the weather played havoc with the league programme and they continued their winning streak when they ad a six wicket win at Heslington who were dismissed for 88 as John Colley took 6-30.
Bottom placed Thorp Arch are still looking for their first win of the season after losing to Selby by six wickets despite making a handy 187 all out.
It was 16-year-old Chris Cole who top scored with 51 and Rob Williams made 46 as Chris Young took 4-18 and Kev Lamb 3-45 for Selby. Lamb then followed with 38, a score matched by Colin Banks then Steve Whisker took Selby to victory with an unbeaten 53.
