A DYNAMIC new brand identity for the Yorkshire region has been unveiled to nearly 2,000 national and international business people.
The new image, under the banner Yorkshire - Alive with Opportunity, was proclaimed by the regional development agency, Yorkshire Forward, at the Yorkshire International Business Convention at Harewood House, near Harrogate.
And the slogan, formulated after researching the views of 3,500 people, has received enthusiastic support from leading businesses and organisations in the county, including York-based Shepherd Group, Asda, Yorkshire Bank, North Yorkshire County Council, Yorkshire Building Society, the regional CBI and Yorkshire Tourist Board.
Among the findings of Yorkshire Forward's research was that there was little or no awareness of Yorkshire and Humber outside the UK; Yorkshire was the best known county but the most readily stereotyped; most want to retain traditional roots but build a modern image; and 80 per cent agreed that the region would benefit from a new image.
