York City are hoping things will go better than all-white next season, as they bid for promotion to the Second Division.

No doubt hoping to be the Real Madrid of Division Three, the Minstermen have plumped for a gleaming new all white second strip, prior to the forthcoming campaign.

Replacing the green and white away kit of old, this new strip - again made by Admiral - has thick blue flashes with red trims down the sides of the sleeves and shorts.

It was unveiled to the public today and went on sale at the club shop at 11am, with doors staying open until 8pm tonight to deal with expected demand.

The new strip is modelled here by club captain Chris Fairclough and up-coming midfielder Lee Bullock, at a sneak preview at Bootham Crescent yesterday.

The first 50 people to buy the strip, meanwhile, will receive a free CD, while the first 200 will be given a £5 voucher for the next home kit, which will be issued in a years' time.

City are offering readers the chance to win one of City's new away strips.

The strip will go to the supporter who has the most number of different York City shirts.

So root through your wardrobe and cupboards and dig out those old tops.

Fans should take the shirts down to the club shop at Bootham Crescent where they will be verified and counted.

Shop manager Paul Shutt will keep a running tally and inform the winner after the competition's closing deadline at noon, Thursday, June 15.
