TOP York swimmer Robin Francis will be in the Great Britain team competing at next month's European Junior Championships in France.
Francis was selected for the squad following his scintillating performances in the high-profile Six-Nations Junior International event in Germany in April.
There, the teenager - who was swimming for GB under-18s against competitors from Italy, France, Spain, Sweden and Germany - clocked six personal best long-course times to pick up an amazing haul of two golds, three silvers and one bronze.
Excellent displays at subsequent meets merely cemented his place in the squad.
The York City Baths Club star, who is now coached by Andrea Ellis following Paddy Garratt's departure from the club, has not yet been told which events he will be taking part in at the European event.
However, it is expected that he will be selected to race in the 200m freestyle and the 200m individual medley, in which he earned gold and silver, respectively, at April's six-nations meet.
He is also expected to be chosen for both freestyle relays, 4x100m and 4x200m, in which he helped Britain come first and second, respectively, at the six-nations.
The European Junior Championships will be held in Dunkirk from July 27 to 30.
