Sarah chips in with choc puds
RYEDALE food writer Sarah Beattie has come up with a real challenge to the taste buds - chocolate Yorkshire puddings.
The Choco-Yorkie dreamed up by Sarah, of Kirkbymoorside, will be served up at this year's Yorkshire pudding boat race at Brawby, near Malton.
She took the idea from her children who love Yorkshire puddings with golden syrup and wedges of orange as a desert.
Sarah, who won Masterchef with a recipe for tomato and stilton ice cream, runs a food consultancy and has published five cook books. Many celebrities have confessed to being fans of her recipes.
She said: "I love Yorkshire food like parkin, curd tarts and of course Yorkshire puddings.
"I like to take recipes for traditional things and stand them on their heads."
The annual Yorkshire Pudding Boat Race takes place at Brawby, near Malton, at 3pm on Saturday.
The chocolate Yorkshire pudding recipe is available on the Internet at www.yorkshirepudding.co.uk
