YORK City boss Terry Dolan is expected to have a fully-fit and raring-to-go squad come the start of pre-season training early next month.
He has had a lengthy injury list since he took over in February, so all the squad being available will be a boost for Dolan.
Seven first team players were on the sick-bed at the end of the season: Wayne Hall (heel), Barry Jones (ribs), Christian Fox (stomach), Colin Alcide (back), Peter Swan (groin), Lee Bullock (ankle) and Chris Fairclough (knee).
Club captain Fairclough is the only one still on the injury list following his operation in mid-May, but he too is expected to be ready for the start of training at the beginning of next month.
Club physio Jeff Miller said the 36-year-old centre-back's operation was not complicated. "They've just taken a look inside both knees and trimmed things up, flushing the knee out," he said.
"His knees have taken a bit of wear and tear over the years. This kind of thing is not uncommon among players who've been playing as long as Chris has.
"It was not giving him a lot of trouble, just a few niggles."
Miller added that three more weeks of treatment were needed. "When you go for an operation like that, you lose a bit of bulk off the muscle while recuperating," he said.
Lee Bullock's time on the treatment table came to an end yesterday, eight weeks after he suffered a recurrence of ankle ligament trouble in a reserve match at Rotherham.
He will start his own pre-season training schedule on July 1, five days before his team-mates are due to sign in.
"I'll go home for a few weeks' break. I'll be starting training a few days before the other lads to make sure I'm totally fit for the new season," he said.
"I did the damage in the (first team) match at Mansfield (on February 8), but the new gaffer came in after that and I was eager to get back on the training ground. The ankle was not strong enough and I went over on it in a tackle."
Bullock, who signed a new three-year contract just before the end of the season, is determined to have his best season for City.
"I want to establish myself in the centre of midfield and have a good run of 20-plus games," he said.
"I want to show the fans what I can do. If the team carry on the way we finished last season there's no reason why we can't get promoted."
A date is yet to be set for Chris Fairclough's personal hearing before the FA, regarding an alleged incident in the tunnel after City's home game with Darlington in April.
