Ground: Vetch Field
Capacity: 11,500
Last season: 7th Manager: John Hollins
Ins: None.
Outs: Aidan Newhouse striker released; Carl Mainwaring striker released.
Chances: Same-again squad, but higher sights in ambition, that's the Swans' way for the coming campaign. Apart from a stab at restoring former Swansea play-maker John Cornforth to the Vetch Field payroll, manager John Hollins has given a ringing endorsement to the ranks who reached the play-offs ten weeks ago. The Swansea boss believes there will be no hang-over from that inability to get the better of eventual promotion winners Scunthorpe. He has nailed his colours to a squad, which he insists comprises the necessary mix of experience and energy. Peter Day, Swansea's chief executive is to stand down on October 16 to pursue other business interests. Commercial director Michael Lewis will take over as general manager. The Swans open the season at Bootham Crescent this Saturday and promise to be a tough test.
One to watch: Martin Thomas. Vigorous midfielder who scored the FA Cup winner against West Ham last season only to suffer a ligament injury, which effectively ended his campaign. Fully-fit he is a key player for the Welshmen.
Title odds: 8-1.
