Born: Rotherham, October 25 1968. Joined City back in March 1989 from Hatfield Main originally as a left winger. Turned professional in the summer of 1989 and made his full senior debut at the start of the 1989/90 campaign. Subsequently converted to the left back position he helped the club win promotion to Division two in 1992/93. Ever reliable defender he has made over 400 first team appearances for City and is in his testimonial year. 'Ginner' netted the penalty at Wembley in the 1991/92 play-off final against Crewe which earned City promotion. Out for the rest of the season after an operation to solve a niggling heel injury.
