EXACTLY how the body of an unemployed Selby man came to be in the River Ouse "will never be known", an inquest was told.
The body of Christopher Watson, 38, missing since Boxing Day, was found floating in the Ouse by a member of the public near the Rank Hovis Mill at Barlby on March 14.
Christopher visited his parents for the last time on December 26 when his father Jack described him as "happy and full of himself"..
The inquest also heard that Christopher, of Bridge Court, Selby, "liked to have binge drinking sessions".
North Yorkshire coroner Jeremy Cave, who recorded an open verdict, said: "There is no evidence of anybody seeing him going into the water.
"There is no suggestion that he was feeling suicidal.
"For how long he was in the water, it is impossible to say."
At the time of going missing his tearful parents told the Evening Press that Christopher may have been suffering from depression as a result of his uncle dying in December.
