The Millennium Appeal sunflower outside St Leonard's Hospice in Tadcaster Road, York, has acquired a new petal to celebrate its latest £100,000 addition.
The money has been raised with a whole range of events, raffles and donations.
Enterprising supporters, including York College students and two patients at the hospice, have made and sold their own handiwork.
All sectors of the community have used annual or special events to help the hospice on its way towards its £2 million target.
Karen Russell, finance and fundraising manager at St Leonard's, said: "Everyone knows £2 million is a huge amount of money to raise, and we want to thank all our supporters for their continuing efforts and encouragement.
"Their enthusiasm and inventiveness never ceases to amaze us!"
There are plenty of events and activities coming up in the next few months to help the Hospice Appeal.
You may like to buy Millennium Draw tickets and try to win £1,000 of holiday vouchers or organise an event of your own.
Some of those already in the St Leonard's calendar are: the St Leonard's Way Challenge Walk from Haworth to Hebden Bridge on Saturday May 6; the Millennium Sunflower Ball at York Racecourse on Saturday, June 10; the Family Adventure Walk in the Castle Howard area on Sunday, June 18; Let's Party, the community fun day with York College, on Saturday, July 1; and BT Voices for Hospices in York Minster on Saturday, October 14.
