Leaders of 27 rural industries gathered in a major show of solidarity and pledged to work together to move agriculture out of crisis.
The third Rural Summit brought together the road haulage industry, farm machinery sector, feed and seed businesses, fertiliser manufacturers and livestock auctioneers.
Those attending the meeting in London agreed to work more closely together to address common problems.
They felt it was vital for farmers to achieve a fairer share of the final retail price of food.
National Farmers' Union president Ben Gill led the meeting at NFU headquarters in London.
He said: "The sustained downturn in UK agriculture of the last three years has directly affected the ability of farmers and growers to invest in services and products. This, in turn, has led to the ruthless unravelling of the rural economy that we are now seeing."
He added: "The 'united front' needed to push Britain's vital agricultural industry forward has been formed."
