TRANSFER-listed midfielder Craig Skinner remains ready and willing despite being deemed surplus to requirements at York City.
The former Blackburn and Wrexham winger earned a surprise recall to the Minstermen's squad for yesterday's trip to Chester.
Skinner was plunged into action at half-time, his first taste of senior football since he was told he would be available on a free despite having two years left on his current contract.
And the 29-year-old, who has endured a miserable injury-plagued City career since signing on transfer deadline day last year, insists he is in no rush to quit City.
"I have still got a couple of years left on my current contract and obviously if I am picked for the team I will give 100 per cent.
"And who knows, if things go well then things might change.
"I have not said I want to get away but if I am not wanted here then I have got to try and get away."
Skinner admitted his recall, coming after he scored two goals for the reserves in their 4-2 win over Scunthorpe, had come as something as a bolt out of the blue.
"But there has been a few injuries and suspensions so it has opened the door slightly for me," he said.
"It was nice to get 45 minutes of first team football under my belt, it was my first taste of first team football for quite a while.
"It doesn't do any harm if you do well in the reserves but it is totally different to playing in the first team. And at least when you are in the first team you put yourself in the shop window."
Skinner's involvement was his first since manager Terry Dolan's first game in control - a fleeting substitute appearance in the 2-0 defeat at Plymouth.
