Reader's letter
In 1809 Mary Bateman was hanged in front of a huge crowd for poisoning. The press dubbed her as the Yorkshire Witch.
I am undertaking some research for BBC2 into family history and am very keen to talk to anyone who believes Mary Bateman, the Yorkshire Witch, may be their ancestor.
If you think that you are related I would like to talk to you. Please contact me in complete confidence.
