HOTSHOTS Civil Service have again proved their net worth by carrying off the York and District Netball League division one trophy.
The silverware they picked up for this success was more silver than ever - it is the 25th consecutive year that they have won the league.
The squad of Jayne Bramma, Laura Simeon, Sam Teader, Zoey Chelton, Margi Charlson, Helen Thompson, Briz Mennell, Laura Mitchell, Sheridon Jones, Jo Long and captain Anna Evans, remained undefeated throughout the campaign, gaining a maximum 80 points and conceding only eight goals.
The division two title went to Osbaldwick 'C', who remained unbeaten after Christmas having lost only twice in the first half of the season.
Osbaldwick had gained a promotion spot last season but, due to a reorganisation of the league structure, remained in division two.
However, the squad of Tara Martyn, Julie Goodwin, Vicki Milner, Danni Courtine, Jo Kitwood, Tracy Yeates, Chris Whitehead and Karen Thompson have proved without doubt they are worthy of a first division spot.
Second-placed Yorvik, 12 points behind the winners, have also been promoted, and both sides go into the top division for the first time in their histories.
Civil Service '4' will join their third team in the second flight next season as champions of division three.
They go up with Dunnington, who ended the campaign just one point behind the winners, whose squad comprised Caroline Jay, Julie Arnold, Janine Corner, Karen Rollinson, Natasha Twigg, Sam McKeown and captain Clare Dale.
Stamford Vikings 'B' were demoted last season, but have determinedly regained their third division status.
One defeat and one draw prevented them gaining maximum points but a resounding 60 from 64 was good enough to give them the division four title.
Their squad comprised Pauline Wade, Kit Jackson, Charlotte Jackson, Susannah Bird, Jeanette Rawcliffe, Katie Rapson, Rebecca Laverick and Barbara Smith.
Runners-up BSA '2' also go up and in division three will meet clubmates BSA '1' who were relegated from division two.
The inaugural fifth division, which saw eight teams with a mixture of experienced and new players involved, saw Osbaldwick's new fourth team storm to title victory.
Only Haxby '6' took three points off the unbeaten champions and they finished as runners-up.
Taking a maximum 72 points, the Osbaldwick '4' squad consisted of Linda Dunford, Julie Storey, Trisha Neal, Sue Bryce, Joan Emmerson, Holly Jackson, Jo Ellis, Marina Mulley, Helen Wrigglesworth and Adele Dews.
