Demand for lessons proves pools are needed
Could I ask Coun Rod Hills to explain why, if there is no demand for the conventional swimming pools in York, I had to stand in a queue in the cold for two and half hours in order to book a place for a further course of swimming lessons for my grandson. Against GM crops
There is little doubt in my mind that had a vote been taken at the end of the public meeting in Nawton about GM crops at Beadlam Grange, the majority of the audience would have voted against this project (April 13). Cash not handouts
What an excellent comment on the way City of York Council is treating the elderly and disabled by way of increased home help charges (April 11). Assemblies are needed
The recent report on the North-South gap is another reminder of the competitive disadvantage that Yorkshire suffers from in comparison to other regions in the UK, especially those in the South ('New report highlights North-South divide', April 10). Pay is deserved
Those correspondents who complain about the level of councillors' expenses quite frankly don't have a clue with regard to this issue.
