Cash raised by big-hearted York supermarket customers has been handed over to two Yorkshire charities.
Tesco, in Tadcaster Road, York, raised thousands of pounds, together with the Variety Club of Great Britain, by selling its gold hearts in the supermarket last year.
Store manager David Marks said he was delighted to hand over two cheques to the two lucky charities.
The first, for £2,875, went to Martin House Children's Hospice at Boston Spa and the second, for £3,000, has gone to Snappy, the York-based charity for children with special needs.
