York City chief Terry Dolan was handed fresh injury woe today with the news that teenage midfielder Lee Bullock has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The youngster picked up a nasty ankle injury in the reserves 2-0 defeat at Rotherham on Tuesday and will not be available for selection for City's remaining five matches.
Bullock was on crutches when Dolan arrived at the club back in February after taking a heavy challenge on the same ankle in the 1-0 defeat at Mansfield.
He has started only a handful of games under the City chief as he worked his way back to match fitness.
However, Bullock, 18, would have been a ready-made replacement for central midfielder Kevin Hulme, whose season will end after Saturday's trip to Cheltenham Town.
It was confirmed today the Hulme, sent off for serious foul play in last Saturday's 0-0 draw with Darlington, will be suspended for four matches - three for his offence against the Quakers and another added for having previously been dismissed this season.
Dolan admitted losing both Hulme and Bullock was a blow but said their absences left the door open for other players to stake a claim, most notably Scott Jordan who has been out of the side since February suffering from a back injury.
City have stressed that every effort will be made to issue season ticket holders at Bootham Crescent with their normal seats for the Saturday, July 29 pre-season visit of Manchester United.
However, all season ticket supporters are advised to contact the club office as soon as possible to book their seats as they are not guaranteed a ticket. Bookings can be made by credit card.
Seat tickets for the game will go on sale on Monday.
Selby Town were unable to halt Brigg Town's bid for the Northern Counties East League premier division title last night as they lost 5-1.
