Racing returns to Thirsk tomorrow with the start of a two-day meeting the highlight of which is Saturday's Stanley Racing Thirsk Classic Trial, which has Listed status for the first time.

Quantity more than quality is the order of the day tomorrow, with big fields and the need for punters to exercise some caution - which is fitting considering a horse called Caution is selected to score!

Steve Gollings' sprinter goes for the Levy Board Thirsk and District Licensees' Fillies' Handicap over six furlongs and has strong claims provided she does everything correctly.

Caution is not the most straightforward of horses. She lost ground at the start on her latest effort, at Ripon, where she came through very strongly in the closing stages to finish sixth to Francport.

Dean Mernagh, who is attached to Mel Brittain's Warthill yard, had the mount that day and will again be in the saddle tomorrow. A bold show is anticipated - but do exercise some caution.

At Newbury, Richard Fahey saddles Vintage Premium in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Mile Rated Handicap, and the hint should be taken.

Fahey, who has had a winner on each of the last two days, has his horses in rude health.

Vintage Premium is sure to have benefited considerably from his recent comeback effort at Haydock, where he finished a useful second to Saffarando.

With Robert Winston in the saddle, Vintage Premium can go one better this time.

Newbury's feature race - one of three televised events on BBC2 - is the £35,000 Dubai Duty Free Fred Darling Stakes, in which Seazun can oblige for Mick Channon and Kieren Fallon.

A high-class juvenile last season, Seazun won the Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket. A good run tomorrow will earn her a tilt at the Sagitta 2,000 Guineas.
