A man was assaulted and robbed of his bicycle as he made his way to work across Scarborough Bridge, York.
Police said three youths aged 17-18 approached the man, demanding he hand over his bike.
When he refused one of the youths punched him and made off with the cycle.
The victim was not injured in the incident, which happened at 5pm on Tuesday.
The cycle was a yellow Boss Impact mountain bike worth more than £200.
Sergeant Colin Ventress describes the main attacker as a white male, aged 17-18 with a freckled complexion and wearing a grey woolly hat and red and orange coloured top.
One of the other men was wearing a white cap.
