Normally you would keep Marmite and Bisto well away from hi-tech computer equipment. But two lateral thinkers are hoping to join the gravy train by selling these household names through the Internet.
Many Web fortunes are based on nothing more substantial than an idea. This York venture is reassuringly old fashioned in that it is supplying real products to real people. Once Simon Aldrich and Richard Finch have brought a taste of Britain to ex-pats abroad, their market may expand. Could it be long before the French are ditching their cuisine for Marmite soldiers and gravy?
