Reader's letter
Liberal Democrat leader Coun Steve Galloway must have had his tongue in cheek when he told the citizens of York that "the Liberal Democrats believe the electorate will use their vote to show dissatisfaction with Labour's recent council tax increase" (Lord Mayor Shock As Councillor Quits, April 5).
The sheer hypocrisy of the man takes one's breath away. Surely this is not the same man who urged the city council to accept a Lib Dem motion to increase the rates by an amount greater than the Labour Party was actually proposing?
