Reader's letter
Traffic roundabout designs in York, especially on the outer ring road, have been the on-going target for environment brickbats from motorists for many months.
A bouquet is now due. The new roundabouts near the (A19) new Park and Ride, and the Great North Way are well worth a Millennium bouquet from all angles. Hopefully, the City of York Council will now be able to look in awe at the other older designs and see where they went wrong.
Maybe local sponsorship has stimulated new planning, design, content and construction, which could usefully result in the new A64 Heworth Green-Stockton Lane roundabout now being planned by York Consultancy.
