Two North Yorkshire professionals will be aiming to book themselves tour cards for this season's Mastercard British Tour later this month.

York Golf Club's assistant pro Simon Appleton and Pannal's Richard Nutton both qualified for the final stage on the route to earning their tour cards with impressive performances in the Northern stage held in Middlesbrough.

Over two rounds on the 72 par course Appleton shot 150 and Nutton 153, to progress to the final qualifiers to be held at Exeter's Royal North Devon course between April 11 and 14.

It will not be a trio as Fulford's Gary Wills just missed out shooting 156 - the cut was made at 154.
