Tony Cooper was in tremendous form in Britannia's York Brewery League division one win, throwing two tons, 137 then 140 for 15 darts.

Mick Bell got Britannia off to a fine start, despite two tons from Alex Render then Darren Bailey hit back for Tap and Spile but it was Rich Hill (180) who paired with Stan Jackson to secure the match. As well they did as Tap collected the last two pairs games to bring the score to 5-4.

Four tons gave Gary Strider a splendid 16 darts, and Phil Smith included 100, and 135 for 20 as Leeman went 2-0 up against Ackhorne.

Steady darts from John Clemit and Sam McCracken got the latter back into contention but Leeman ran out 5-4 winners.

Slipper's Rob Platt included a maximum 180 for 20 darts only to be bettered by Mitre's Neil Pink who scored well with two tons and 125 for 17. Pete Turnbull and Steve Reynolds combined to take the ninth game decider and the aggregate point for Slipper.

Volunteer started well through Darren Gray (20) then Paul Botterill included an 82, bull check-out as they took the match 6-3 against Clifton whose Alan Smith was their only singles winner.

City Arms held their lead at the top of the table with a fine 6-3 victory at Punch.

The battle for division two honours hotted-up with Burton Stone recording a 6-3 win over Six Bells and Dick Turpin beating Woodman 7-2. John Brown (20) played well for Bells but with the match all-square after the singles, Burton Stone took the pairs.

Consistent team scoring was sufficient to see Dick Turpin through against Woodman. Turpin now join Burton at the top of the table.

Andy Gillyon was in excellent form for Reindeer with a 180 maximum and 140 for 17 darts which helped Reindeer to a 5-4 win against City Arms.

Huntington remain in third place. They beat Crown 6-3. Jackdaw extended their lead in division three by beating Royal Oak whose Mick Thompson was their only reply.

Punch's Sharon Neads hit 138 and 140 for 21 darts but, from three apiece, Ebor took all the pairs games which kept them in second place.

Howden's 6-3 win over Cygnet saw Jez Hempshall in excellent form hitting two tons, 125 and 102 for 21 darts.

Despite two last game tons from Roger Pirrie, Winning Post recovered the aggregate point after Leeman had sewed up six games. Leeman's Harry Stirk included a maximum 180.

Ray McInally kick-started the York Exhibition Hotel Group League summer season by scoring 100, 180, 136 finish to game in 15 darts, then four tons-plus scoring in the pairs.

However, it wasn't Poacher's night. Even though the games were close, Shepherd's with 180 for 19 from Kev Walton and a slick 118 check-out by Barry Nicholson, turned a 6-3 result their way.

Green Tree 'B' team's 6-3 win at Flag included a splendid 17 darts by Peter Green. The Flag licensee Mick Lambert shot out on bullseye.

Treble 20, bull then double 16, amounting to 142, was Mick Coupland's way to finish and Dringhouses' colleague Barry Noble was a 180 scorer. But Cygnet had Keith Turner up their sleeve. He threw 180 for 15 darts then partnered Mark Miller to get the 5-4 decider.

Kelvin Frankle led Trafalgar off with 21 darts and Paul Keers paired up with Colin Rowntree to get the decider against New Earswick who had Andy Turpin recording a fine 19 darter.

Jerome Rossez and Pete Ella (180) each found 21 dart games to take Slip to a 6-3 victory over Osbaldwick Sports. The latter however had Russ Armstrong also registering 21 darts and, in a five tons-plus pairs with Jack Hodgson for 22 darts, the aggregate was retrieved.

Holgate's comprehensive win over Waggon was highlighted by 16 darts from Adrian Harris. Pete Pearson and Owen Legg combined to secure Shepherd's a 5-4 victory over Snickleway.

Ray Ward (20) was outstanding as Acorn mastered Railway Institute 7-2.

A 102 finish from Andy Penrose put Swan 3-0 up but Doug Sutcliffe turned things around with 21 darts, then, with Mick Reagan, took Sun 'A' the last game decider.

Keith and Andy Mercer made it 5-4 to Vaults at Saddle.
