Evening Press leader
Faced with a loved one suddenly collapsing, many of us would be gripped by panic.
Not ten-year-old Eleanor Keeler. She showed remarkable composure when her father became ill. Her calmness under pressure saved dad Chris's life.
Eleanor kept calm and drew on her first aid training, from Brownies, Guides and at North Yorkshire Police's Crucial Crew event.
This story demonstrates beyond doubt the value of teaching children how to respond to a medical emergency. Chris Keeler would not be here today without it and the cool-headed heroics of his daughter.
