Reader's letter
So the chairman of the Selby District Labour Group, Councillor John Duggan, would prefer that the York Minster Appeal bells be dedicated to 'those who served on the home front during the Second World War' rather than to the Queen Mother (March 23).
I'm not qualified to speak for Selby's old "home-fronters" as to whether they are interested or not in Brigadier Lyddon's appeal.
However, as someone who served on both fronts I can safely say that they would appreciate a long-overdue raising of their miserable annual bus-travel tokens grant of £8. How about matching York's £24, Councillor Duggan? We all served on the same front!
