Bootham School have scored a hat-trick of successes on the basketball court.

HAT-TRICK HEROES: Bootham School's successful under-14, 15 and 16 basketball squads celebrate their championship treble

In the under-14, 15 and 16 sections of the York and Selby District League they triumphed in each of the finals.

The under-14 string notched their victory with a 32-31 success over Joseph Rowntree School with the winning points coming with less than a minute on the clock.

"These have been exciting matches. Bootham has produced the winning formula for a few years now and, of course, that means that each time there is even more pressure on our teams to do well," said Colin Raper, Head of PE at Bootham.

"We are naturally very proud of the achievements but we take nothing for granted - these were all nail-biting matches played against very competitive teams."
