Midfield marvel Christian Fox could miss Saturday's trip to Peterborough, York City boss Terry Dolan revealed today.

The teenage ace was one of three players who limped out of training yesterday in a day of ups and downs for Dolan.

The City chief was able to get his first glimpse of striker Colin Alcide, midfielder Steve Agnew and defensive linch-pin Chris Fairclough in action.

All three returned to training for the first time after lengthy absences through injury, although it could be some weeks before they will make a return to senior duty.

However, Dolan's fortunes took a dramatic slump with the loss of Fox to a foot injury, luckless wideman Craig Skinner to a ricked neck and young Marc Thompson, who turned his ankle.

Fox's injury is of most concern with Dolan reckoning the youngster could be out for a week.

Thompson offered slightly more hope and was set to undergo treatment with City physio Jeff Miller today.

For Skinner, his poor luck with injuries shows no sign of abating. After missing most of the season with a knee injury, the former Wrexham winger only returned to senior action earlier this month.

However, a groin strain ruled him out of Saturday's goalless draw with Exeter.

Scott Jordan also missed training yesterday, although his back injury is not as bad as first thought conceded Dolan.

The playmaker got a knee in his back at the start of Saturday's second half and was forced to withdraw.

A similar back problem forced Jordan to miss a couple of matches last month.

Tommo is back at Boro

Former York City player-boss Neil Thompson has returned to neighbours Scarborough, signing on non-contract terms.

The 36-year-old, who left City by mutual agreement earlier this month, will link up with the Seasiders for the remainder of the season.

Not a stranger to McCain Stadium, the former Ipswich left-back played for Scarborough when they won promotion to the Football League back in 1987, scoring 15 goals in 87 appearances before moving to Portman Road two years later.

However, Thompson is not included in the Boro squad for tonight's Conference League game against Southport tonight, for which manager Colin Addison has been handed fresh injury woes.

Player-coach Lee Sinnott has been ruled out because of an achilles injury, and joins central defensive partner Marvin Harriott - who picked up a hamstring injury in the midweek defeat at Altrincham - on the sidelines.

There are doubts, too, over Gareth Williams and striker Chris Tate, who have both picked up a flu bug.

Midfielder Marcus Jones got a knock on the knee during Saturday's shock defeat at Bishop Auckland, but is likely to have recovered in time for tonight's clash.

Manager Colin Addison - who may have reshuffled the pack anyway following Boro's FA Umbro Trophy exit - has said he will leave it late before naming his line-up.

Selby Town will replay their Northern Counties East League President's Cup quarter final tonight, at North Ferriby.

The first game ended all square, and the replay was due to be played a fortnight ago, only to be controversially called off minutes before kick off because of floodlight failure.

The match was put back until tonight, kick off 7.30pm, with Selby's scheduled league game against Eccleshill postponed.
